San Francisco, CA, October 3, 2011. Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing enterprise, today announced the availability of the iXVL View application for the iPad®. It is available free of charge from the Apple App Store.
The ultra-lightweight 3D XVL format is widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, heavy machinery, medical devices etc. where products can have a large number of parts and complex structures. Now, iXVL View will allow that data to be shared and viewed using the iPad®.
The iXVL View player will read previously captured/converted XVL files, displaying 3D models that can be rotated, panned and zoomed using the intuitive finger tip controls common in iPad® applications. XVL’s industry leading compression will allow even the largest CAD files (often more than 1GB!) to be viewed easily on all iPad® devices.
iXVL View joins the existing family of products and free players available from Lattice Technology. It will ensure that companies wanting to adopt the iPad® to distribute and share 3D data and product information can do so easily.
