Special Offer! New book covering 3D in Lean Manufacturing, Available as a Free Download! As a special offer to all our customers and newsletter recipients, Lattice Technology is pleased to announce that the new book, "Improving Lean Manufacturing Through 3D Data", authored by Lattice Technology’s Dr Hiroshi Toriya, is available as a free download. First published in Japan in late 2008, this book is targeted at manufacturing executives and educators trying to work out new strategies to build greater productivity and efficiencies into existing manufacturing processes. The book covers a wide range of case studies from leading Japanese manufacturers, along with recent survey data, to build understanding of how manufacturing can be enhanced using 3D data in downstream processes. It also explains the evolution of 3D and IT in the industry, and shows how it can be leveraged into other areas of manufacturing that have remained using traditional processes. Japan's Space Agency Takes 3D into space exploration
The module, codenamed Kibo, is a pressurized experiment platform that will be used across the next decade to conduct micro gravity experiments. To develop this state-of-the-art equipment, 3D CAD was extensively used, and those 3D models are now expected to play increasingly important roles as XVL data in the review of designs and related operations instructions as the module goes into operational mode. |
