Lattice Technology Releases New 64-bit XVL Converter Server
CATIA V5 and Pro/Engineer 64-bit CAD now supported

San Francisco, CA, July 31 2006. Lattice Technology Inc., developers of the ultra-compressed XVL 3D format and 3D Publishing applications, today announced a new 64-bit 3D CAD translator, XVL Converter Server x64, which will be released in September 2006.

XVL Converter Server x64 operates as a 64-bit application on Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. The new application supports Dassault Systemes’ CATIA V5 and Parametric Technology Corporation's (PTC) Pro/ENGINEER WildFire 3.0.

3D CAD models and assemblies have continued to grow larger, and the 3GB memory limitation of the 32-bit operating system meant that users could reach memory limits. Lattice Technology's new XVL Converter Server x64 allows users to take advantage of Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and access 16TB of memory allowing the very large assemblies typically found in automotive and aerospace to be successfully converted to XVL.

All XVL files that are output from XVL Converter Server x64 will work with all Lattice Technology applications. Since XVL-translated CAD data can be displayed and edited with a smaller amount of memory, after conversion, the large 3D assembly data can be viewed and edited with applications on lower cost 32-bit computers.
