Lattice3D to Present at Global Automotive Standards Event
Developer to reveal new XVL version and XVL Studio Pro application at SASIG
in Germany
Los Altos, CA, September 12, 2005 -
Lattice3D, the leader in 3D publishing and communications and developer of XVL compression technology, today announced that it will present its latest innovations - a new XVL version and the XVL Studio Pro application - at the SASIG meeting being held in Sindelfingen (Stuttgart), Germany, September 12-16, 2005. Lattice3D customer MAN
Nutzfahrzeuge AG will co-present a user perspective.
SASIG - Strategic Automotive product data Standards Industry Group - is a consortium of global automotive standards organizations from North America, Europe and Asia. The objective of the demonstration is to help the SASIG workgroup understand the current capabilities of Lattice3D and other vendor visualization tools as they pertain to viewing of 3D models and annotation. This information will be used by the workgroup to help develop guidelines, best practices and standards that support an open collaborative environment within the global automotive supply chain.
This demonstration provides the vendors a unique opportunity to interact with key automotive industry representatives. A major SASIG DEV workgroup deliverable is to define a global roadmap taking the industry from a 2D drawing environment to a 3D fully annotated model that can be used throughout the extended enterprise.
"We are delighted that SASIG recognizes the contribution and standing of Lattice3D in the global auto industry and look forward to cooperating with SASIG to achieve the worthy goals they are pursuing", said Jiro Suzuki, COO of Lattice3D, "Using products based on XVL, automotive companies and their suppliers can easily re-use even large scale CAD files for downstream design
review and 3D publishing applications with control over accuracy and security."
Lattice 3D's XVL technology ultra-compresses 3D data from CAD modeling applications into lightweight documents that are still voluble in three dimensions and may be annotated, measured, assembled, explored and published with other model parts through Lattice3D applications. The compressed files are more portable, and with the new advancement, can be used to make automatic large-scale measurements on all parts throughout a vehicle, such as the clearance and interference checks.
