Lattice3D Technology
Implemented at Kito Corporation
Hoist and Crane Manufacturer Shares Complex 3D
Data Through All Facilities
Los Altos, CA May 11, 2004 a leader
in enterprise-wide use of 3D data, today announced that Kito Corporation
has implemented Lattice3D as its corporate standard for publishing
and sharing CAD data among all facilities.
Kito Corporation is a global supplier of hoists and
crane end carriages with annual revenues in excess of $180 million.
The company, headquartered in Japan, has sales, engineering and
manufacturing operations in 45 countries across 4 continents. Kito
hoist and crane equipment is used worldwide for durable, reliable
and safe material handling.
The Lattice3D technology gives Kito easy-to-use software
that compresses large CAD data models and assemblies in a loss-less
format. This allows immediate distribution of very complex 3D models
throughout all Kito facilities, which can be instantly published
to web and PDF formats for training and instruction manuals. The
XVL®-based technology was first tested in Kitos Japan facilities
and has now been adopted in its United States operations.
“Lattice3D has allowed us the flexibility to work
within our chosen CAD and design platforms and then publish the
design data created without concern about proprietary formats or
extra CAD seats,” stated Toshihiro Fukatsu, Machining Manager, Kito
Corporation. “With Lattice3D we are seeing true return on investment
and measurable performance improvements something we value in our
globally distributed operation.”
Lattice3Ds award-winning XVL-based technologies are
used by major automotive, manufacturing, architecture and aerospace
companies worldwide to take data directly from engineering and convert
and compress 3D images into an XVL file. Data can now easily be
used in multiple business operations including sales and marketing,
customer service, technical publications, technical illustrations,
procurement, and training. XVL has streamlined the compression of
very large data and the usage of computer memory so that end-users
are able to use models that were originally 50-250 times larger,
without loss of detail. The Lattice3D applications include the ability
to produce user manuals, documentation, parts lists, assembly instructions
and more in almost any format including Microsoft Office®, Adobe
PDF®, Internet formats and html.
