XVL Studio 9.1 Feature Updates
(July 2010)

XVL Studio Ver 9.1 delivers far-reaching enhancements and new features that enable greater flexibility, power and accuracy in authoring 3D for digital mock up and downstream documentation in manufacturing.

XVL Studio is available in three different versions, known as Basic, Standard and Pro. XVL Studio Basic delivers 3D authoring tools including saving dimensions, generating cross-sections, annotations, colors and so on. XVL Studio Standard rapidly defines animations and process designs, and edits parts attributes, thereby allowing manufacturing information to be accurately visualized and conveyed to other departments and suppliers as work instructions and other documents. XVL Studio Pro accurately checks interference and clearance issues, and performs advanced DMU functions. XVL Studio also comes with optional upgrades including Illustration, Geometry Difference Check, Human Option and more.

New and enhanced Features of XVL Studio ver 9.1.

Process Design Updates

Optimization of Process Animations

Smaller file size makes opening, sharing and creating large assembly process animations easier and faster.

Animation of tools and equipment: Now available within a process animation

Accurately check movement and collision/interference as tools and equipment are involved in a process.

Merging of processes now available: Different processes for the same 3D data are imported and merged from XVL files.

Process design tasks can be shared by multiple people and part matching visually checked as processes are imported, increasing speed and accuracy of complex process design

Multiple process items can now be edited simultaneously

Save time and increase efficiency by editing groups of process items.

Duplicate parts checking in a process tree is now automated

XVL Studio automatically detects and checks duplicate parts in the process tree so they can be visually compared and approved.

Illustration and Parts List Creation

Disassembly Parts List creation: sBOMs can now be created based on the disassembly tree

Faster and more accurate creation of sBOMs plus additional editing tools for greater productivity

Trace lines follow part movement: When a part position is changed, relevant trace lines will move with the part.

Feature delivers faster and clearer editing of an illustration to lead to greater productivity.

Notes and annotations can be circled in the 3D view

Faster visualization and creation of notes for illustrations delivers faster productivity and greater efficiency

circled annotations now available

2D illustrations can now be created based on the 3D view with full control of settings

2D illustrations are quickly created to desired specifications directly from 3D view.

CSV import and export available directly from edit panel

Faster, clearer import of .CSV information assists in faster creation of accurate illustrations from several data sources.

Digital Mock Up Enhancements

Draft angle detection now available

Enhanced feature allows for draft angles to be rapidly detected, highlighted and checked for manufacturability.

Hidden trace lines can now be displayed

Color bar display enhancements: Include the ability to import a user-defined color bar and to custom define tolerances for color bar display when checking differences in 3D data.

Enhanced features allow for faster comprehension, more flexile display of information during comparisons of 3D data.

Measurement & Cross-sectioning

Improved measurement navigation:This includes continuous navigation and measurement across elements, continuous measurement from a user coordinate system and various points, and saving of base coordinate systems in a property.

Enhanced features enable rapid measurement of elements in a 3D model, increasing accuracy and saving time.

Hidden trace lines can now be displayed
