Lattice Technology Announces the Release of XVL Converter Advanced
New Converter Product Features Support for Semantic PMI tend, there are also virtual sessions.
Denver, CO, December 1, 2022 — Lattice Technology, Inc., a leading software solution provider for manufacturing companies, announces XVL Converter Advanced. This new converter product, which complements XVL Converter Plug-in and XVL Converter Server, includes support for semantic PMI. Semantic PMI is a critical feature for companies undertaking Model-Based Enterprise initiatives.
Lattice Technology develops XVL-based software solutions that enable manufacturing companies to repurpose 3D CAD data to be used by functions downstream from product development. With XVL, multiple 3D CAD files (even different formats from different vendors) can be combined into a single digital virtual product model. And since XVL maintains CAD-level accuracy, this virtual product model can serve as the company’s product data backbone downstream from design. Common use cases include design reviews, assembly validation, assembly work instructions, technical documentation, and procedural service instructions.
XVL Converter Advanced provides the capability to convert semantic PMI from 3D CAD data and maintains the link between the PMI and the associated 3D shapes. Semantic PMI also includes manufacturing information and other metadata. This makes semantic PMI particularly useful in manufacturing reports, RFPs and other data-heavy applications.
The XVL Converter series of products supports all major CAD system formats, including CATIA®, Creo®, JT®, NX®, SOLIDWORKS®, Parasolid® and neutral formats like STEP and STL. XVL Converters can be installed as plug-ins to supported 3D CAD systems for desktop use and as servers for standalone batch processing.
Also with the release, XVL Converter series can recognize and convert more objects and attributes, has better surface interpolation, can handle longer element names, and provides better handling of source data issues.
XVL Converter Advanced joins the line-up of XVL solutions that enables the manufacturing company to better leverage their digital 3D CAD assets across their company by having a single virtual product model, part of their overall digital transformation plans. About Lattice Technology, Inc.
Lattice Technology provides XVL-based software solutions – Converting, Authoring and Publishing. Our solutions enable users in functions downstream of product development to use 3D CAD data for their specific needs. XVL, which is CAD agnostic, was designed to be used outside of product development. Using XVL solutions, engineers and non-engineers alike can repurpose and leverage 3D CAD model information for functions ranging from manufacturing to service.
XVL benefits companies that produce products with high part counts, complex geometry, detailed manufacturing processes or have ongoing lifecycle support requirements such as documentation, maintenance, and training. Target industries range from those developing large products such as airplanes and automobiles to small, complex machinery and medical devices.
