"It is visual, but it is backed by accurate 3D CAD data for real work. Its purpose is to provide stakeholders with a complete and accurate graphical representation of the product in its current state. A 3D Digital Twin is not just a pretty picture it is a complete, accurate virtual representation with all associated data." The 3D Digital Twin includes all of the 3D geometry (from all CAD files for a product, even those in different formats) and the various Bills of Material (eBOM, mBOM, sBOM) to support diverse downstream functions like production planning, technical documentation, and maintenance. **Benefits of a 3D Digital Twin for Stakeholders** "Unlike typical 3D CAD models, which are often large, complex, and difficult to use for non-CAD users, a 3D Digital Twin is intuitively accessible, CAD-independent, and ultralightweight for performance. And it is accessible from any device without the need for specialized software,” said Hughes. “It is especially useful for non-design stakeholders such as manufacturing, tech pubs, and service, enabling them to interact with accurate, up-to-date product information without needing CAD expertise.” **Model-Based Enterprise (MBE)** Transitioning to a Model-Based Enterprise is a big project. Since a 3D Digital Twin is a complete digital representation of a product, including all 3D CAD files and related information, it can become a foundational component for implementing MBE. And it can be implemented in phases with various stakeholder functions without a complete upheaval of the organization. **Virtual Realities: 3D Digital Twin for VR, AR, and MR (XR)** The underlying data of our 3D Digital Twin is XVL.
